Hi there. I'm Jim, a freelance copywriter/ACD living in NY, but originally from Detroit. Prior to advertising, I wrote

for a travel show in Europe; served as probably-London's-worst bartender; worked as a pseudo gonzo journalist

in Michigan; and went to VCU Brandcenter. I think in that order.

I was lucky enough to move to Australia in 2014 when a long-time agency crush (Clemenger BBDO) came calling.

Clems and Australia were amazing, but after two years I moved back stateside to be closer to family.

Can write normally and in mirror image with both hands. This obviously doesn't guarantee any writing ability,

but does guarantee I can at least write shittily four different ways.

Once slut-shamed a scantily-clad vagabond for hours before realizing I was staring into a mirror.

Was also grazed by a stray bullet once while growing up in Detroit. True story. The slut-shaming thing, not so much.

This may sound cheesy, but I'm really grateful that we get to do what we do. Earlier in my career I don't think I was.

But definitely am now.
